Alf Alderson is an award-winning freelance journalist and photographer based in Pembrokeshire, South West Wales. He specialises in adventure sports and travel journalism, and his work has appeared in newspapers and magazines in Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.

He is also the author of various guidebooks and is gear review editor at OE magazine (www.oe-mag.com), as well as being an active member of the Outdoor Writers'  & Photographers' Guild (www.owg.org.uk), the UK's best established guild of professional outdoor and travel writers.

 Alf was also one of the first UK members of the environmental group One Per Cent for the Planet, and is on the steering committee of the British Surfing Museum (www.thesurfingmuseum.co.uk). When he can be bothered he occasionally posts scurrilous comments on his own blog here...
